Join us at Jenstar Yoga for a very special Yoga For a Cause event as we celebrate World Down Syndrome Day!
Register NowLed by Ashley Deprey-Peeters, this 60-minute restorative practice is designed to help you slow down and find balance while we spread love and awareness for the Down syndrome community. All proceeds from this donation-based class will benefit the Down Syndrome Association of Wisconsin (DSAW) and their local Green Bay chapter.
Wear your wildest, most colorful, or mismatched socks! It’s a global tradition to show solidarity and celebrate the unique beauty of the Down syndrome community.
March is a very special month in my world for so many reasons. The first day of spring arrives on the 20th, and both my husband and my son celebrate their birthdays this month! But there is another date on the calendar that means the world to our family: March 21st—World Down Syndrome Day.
You might be wondering, “Why March 21st?” Most people are born with 23 pairs of chromosomes (46 total). However, people with Down syndrome are born with a third copy of the 21st chromosome- (47 total). So: 3 copies of the 21st—3/21. There are many misconceptions about what it’s like to live with Down syndrome. Too often, the world focuses on limitations rather than the unique gifts, perspectives, and "light" these individuals share with us. That is why this month, our Seva partner is the Down Syndrome Association of Wisconsin (DSAW).
DSAW has a local chapter right here in Green Bay. They provide lifelong support—from connecting families at birth to assisting with job placement and advocacy. I am so grateful they exist to ensure every individual in our community has the support they need to thrive.
As always, we will give 10% of this month's profits to a cause. This month, Movement In Service donations will go directly to DSAW. Thank you for helping me build a more vibrant community where everyone—truly everyone—belongs.
With love,
Ashley

Based near Downtown Green Bay, I share my home with my husband, our two sons, and two cats. My personal journey with yoga began in 2011, eventually leading me to earn my 200-hour RYT certification in 2015. Driven by a passion for holistic movement, I expanded my expertise in 2017 to include Barre instruction. This addition opened a new avenue of mind-body balance that has become a cornerstone of my teaching philosophy.
It is a true honor to share my love of movement and the exploration of the mind-body connection with the Green Bay yoga community. As a lifelong student, I have experienced firsthand how yoga builds internal strength and equilibrium, and I strive to bring that same sense of stability to every class I lead.
Students can expect a practice rooted in dynamic energy and flow. My classes are designed to be physically challenging, ensuring you walk away feeling empowered and strong. However, my ultimate goal is for you to leave the mat feeling less scattered and more present—fully equipped to live your life with clarity and intention.
